“Beef Rib O Beef Rib, Where for Art Thou Beef Rib?”
Right now it’s at the store… waiting…TO BE SMOKED! We will be cooking up these bad boys this Friday over at Stosh’s in Fairlawn, NJ. These usually go pretty quick, so get there before they are gone. We will start serving at 6pm on Friday and 6pm on Saturday.
Last weekend we had an awesome time listening to some folks jam out to some original music. One of the cats we ran into was Mr. Reese Van Riper. If you ever wanted to travel back to the 60s/70s he is your man. From head to toe he is the part. He also has a saweet van!
Also, big shout out to Will Wood for killing it on the keyboard. I am pretty sure we are going to get him and his band, Will Wood and The Tapeworms, to perform at our spot once we get open. For a moment I thought he was going to eat my soul, but then I snapped out of that funk and bought a couple of his CDs. Gotta support your local artists. Well done Will!
Tuesday night we attended the Brewing the American Dream coaching event presented by Samuel Adams in association with Accion. It was a breath of fresh air to receive some good coaching from people all over the spectrum. We were very fortunate to be able to have this opportunity to discuss with the coaches our current plan and whether or not there were any changes or improvements that we could make in order to provide a better quality product and service to you once you step through our doors. Lets just say some of it was eye opening, but for the most part people reassured us that we were on the right track.
Even though Sam Adams is a pretty big brewery and most people in the craft beer community write them off, you have to give Jim credit for building not just a brewery, but a business from the ground up, kind of like us. There are a lot of factors that can drag you down, but you gotta keep fighting everyday. After you overcome each hurdle you become more polished and poised to be able to tackle bigger and more complex projects. All we can say for now is that we are taking it one day at a time. In the end it all adds up.
Now to find some time to read Jim Koch’s book Quench Your Own Thirst, Business Lessons Learned Over a Beer or Two.
p.s. This was the view from The W Loft in Williamsburg, BK. I’ve never seen so many man buns in my life on my way in from the parking lot.
